FAQs

Can my existing gate be made automatic?

Most manually operated swing gates can be automated. A site visit or e-mailed pictures, together with a plan layout of your gate/s and surround, is all we need to quickly determine if your gates are suitable for automation.

Will installing an automatic opener make my gate easier to open?

If your gate is having trouble opening because the hinges are seized, or the wheel bearings have rusted, then an automatic opener will not solve the problem. However, replacing them with new components should make your gate suitable for automation.

I have a driveway that slopes up and would like a swing gate – can this be made automatic?

We can look at making your gate swing outwards automatically, as long as it doesn’t obstruct a pedestrian pathway or road.

Can I install a sliding gate on a sloping driveway?

Yes, you can! However, it is always best to re-canver your drive to suit a level track, as a slope that is too great will have limitations and safety implications, such as when there is a power outage, and you have to manually open or close the gate. In this situation we would recommend you have a gate made out of aluminium.

Do I need a power point installed on each side of my gate?

No. Even two-piece gates only require power on one side. In fact, some of our products don’t require a power point at all as they rely on battery power and solar panels for charging, and most gate motors run on 12 or 24V DC.

What happens if there is a power cut?

If you don’t have battery back-up you will have to manually release the gate from the inside of your property.
